Frequently asked questions
General
As a licensed Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) (Manufacturer/Dealer, we are fully authorized to handle the shipping of both serialized and non-serialized firearm parts, as well as complete firearms.
We can verify the validity of our license through the ATF's FFL eZ Check system (available at https://fflezcheck.atf.gov/)(https://fflezcheck.atf.gov/). Upon request, we are pleased to provide a copy of our current FFL documentation to you or your designated shipping carrier.
For serialized parts and complete firearms (items requiring federal regulation as firearms):
• By law, these must be returned to the address appearing on the government-issued identification (e.g., driver's license, passport, or military ID) that you provide.
• Please include a clear, legible copy of the chosen form of identification with your shipment.
For non-serialized parts (items not classified as firearms under federal law):
• These may be shipped directly to our facility.
• Upon completion of service or processing, we can return them to any individual or address you specify.
Shipping requirements for non-FFL individuals (per federal regulations):
• Handguns must be shipped via 2nd-day air (or faster) using a common/contract carrier (e.g., UPS or FedEx).
• Long guns (rifles and shotguns) may be shipped via ground service through the USPS or a common/contract carrier.
For return shipments, we primarily utilize insured USPS services to ensure cost-effective and compliant delivery, unless alternative arrangements are requested and approved.
Should you have any questions or require additional documentation, please let us know—we are happy to assist in ensuring full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Shipping guidelines
• Handguns: Must ship via UPS or FedEx 2nd-day air (or faster). Do not use USPS/local post office—federal law prohibits it.
• Long guns & non-serialized parts: May ship ground via USPS (cheapest) or contract carrier.
• Shipping method tip: Use carrier pickup or drop off at a UPS/FedEx center for better reliability and lower cost. Avoid pack-and-ship stores.
• Insurance: Purchase full-value insurance and note the desired amount on your work order.
• Declaration: State clearly: “Unloaded firearm for repair.”
• Safety: Confirm firearm is completely unloaded. No ammunition allowed.
• Packaging: Pack securely with sufficient cushioning.
• Documentation: Include a detailed itemized packing list. We are not responsible for undocumented items.
Virtually any non-rubber firearm component can be Cerakote coated. However, for safety and reliability reasons, we do not coat:
• Critical contact surfaces (e.g., sears, safeties, triggers, disconnectors, hammer hooks, etc.)
• Aftermarket match or performance triggers
• Springs
• Interior barrel bores or chambers
In rare cases where a spring is permanently attached and cannot be removed without disassembly, it may receive coating as necessary. We will never apply Cerakote in a way that could compromise the function, safety, or reliability of your firearm.
If you have questions about a specific part, feel free to ask—we’re happy to review it with you before proceeding.
